This year it is 20 years since Sissi Kewenter, founder of Skhoop, took an icy walk through Åre, which would change her life. Frozen and prone to change, she got an idea for a garment that was not on the market – a warm, practical and stylish skirt for all weathers, activities and buttocks. A few hours later, the first skirt from Skhoop, made from an old down jacket, saw the light of day. The rest is, as we say – history.

The background as a freelance designer and product developer, a solid knowledge of textiles and a courage to think differently, meant that a pair of scissors, a sewing machine and a used down jacket were all Sissi needed to make her idea a reality. The first prototype was completed around the same time as the hands thawed.

Åre is still the company’s domicile today. A lot has happened over the years, but Skhoop remains true to its core values ​​and the soul of the company is stronger than ever. Skhoop works environmentally consciously when choosing materials and accessories for their garments. Skhoop has chosen to work with “certified 100 by Oeko-Tex®” which they consider to be a good consumer certification system. This is to be able to offer sustainable garments both in terms of environmental thinking but also for the consumer to feel secure in what they buy. “We believe in being kind, making good products that do good for our customers and that work in everyday life.” says Sissi.

 SKHOOPS SKIRTS:
Skhoops skirts work just as well in everyday life as in leisure time and for an active life. The areas of use are as many as the options. Running, cross-country skiing, long-distance skating, slalom and riding are just a few examples the skirts work for. Over the years, the original dress has been accompanied by more variants. Everything from full-length padded winter skirts that can withstand an Arctic climate, to light, patterned summer skirts that gild lazy or active summer days on the beach, in the city or on adventure.
